I like the phrase "Urban Orienteering." I enjoy doing that as well...

Many years ago I was staying with some relatives in Tokyo for about 6 weeks. The problem was I was young (high school age) and had basically no money. So I spent most of my days walking on foot around Tokyo. I saw a lot of things I wouldn't have otherwise.

Congratulations on a year of not being deported... Unfortunately the longer you stay the less amused people will be with your gaijin ways and expect you to become one of them... This may require going to an indoor ski resort and getting an anime pillow girlfriend...

As the source of your comment on "Sprite = urinal cakes" I can vouch for the fact that this is purely an olfactory phenomenon--I am unaware that anyone has tried a "taste test" on this particular issue.

Incidentally, for those interested, your prior pre-race regime actually involved fajitas and margaritas, whatever yakking you did, and then 15 minutes of ""ralphingquot" (as you so quaintly put it) retchedly and noisily for the benefit of good folk trying to sleep. I vas dere, Charlie. Might I suggest that you try this regime again for the next race; and skip the energy bar.

If you can't solve the mystery of race forms featuring portraits of the horses can you at least lend some insight into the Japanese's fascination with blood types? When I was younger I thought this was a peculiarity restricted to video game characters but I've seen the statistic featured alongside general information in actor's profiles and other famous folks' write-ups...
